About Our Upcoming Seminar

Rebuilding A Stable Foundation:
(Free Seminar, July 10, 2021)

Anxiety disorder is the most common mental illness in the United States. Major depressive disorder is the leading cause of disability in our country today. During the pandemic, about 4 in 10 adults reported symptoms of anxiety or depression, up from 1 in 10 adults back in 2019. Difficulty sleeping, eating disorder, substance abuse, suicidal thoughts, and other responses to anxiety are dramatically on the rise. School closings, loss of income, social isolation, political and national changes and uncertainty, and more have been major contributors. Statistical studies show how uniquely and dramatically these mental health challenges strike adolescents, young adults, people of color, mothers, and essential care workers (information from Kaiser Family Foundation, kff.org). But, there is no doubt that everyone has been affected by all this upheaval.

How can we push through these challenges and move forward in our lives? Can we find successful ways to cope with these threats to our mental health? What role does the Bible play in this?

On July 10, 2021, in the gymnasium at Foundation Christian Academy (2480 Three Springs Rd., Bowling Green, 42104), the Lehman Avenue church of Christ will be hosting a free seminar by a licensed professional counselor and graduate professor. Dr. Jerry Martin (see biography below) will be the featured speaker, addressing some of the most common issues we currently face that are trying our families and communities. Equip yourself. Help loved ones. Learn successful, God-honoring coping tools to help overcome these challenging times.
